The Facility Management discipline has been applied indirectly in Peru for many years and has had multiple names in each company where it has been managed.
Even today the concept of this discipline is not well established, making each professional manage the activities that make up this discipline in different and varied ways.
Based on the above, in October 2014, several professionals from different sectors attended the first International Facility Management event held in Lima, called “Facility Management Week”, which was organized by CIFMers Global. Several Peruvian attendees were interested in creating a professional association to promote Facility Management in Peru. With the implementation of ISO 41001:2018 and after organizational work with other professionals interested in this field who joined, at the beginning of 2019 the founding members formed the Peruvian Facility Management Association (APEFAM) and the first Board of Directors was elected. The creation of an association that would encompass professionals and companies in the sector was required so that the requirements specified in the ISO 41001:2018 standard are applicable to all organizations, or parts thereof, whether in the public or private sector, and regardless of the type, size and nature of the organization or geographic location.
Contribute to the professionals who work in Facility Management, acquire the necessary skills to become professionals in this discipline. Promote that the community of professionals, companies and final clients identify the intervention of this discipline as the quality standard that Peru needs in both the public and private sectors.
Become the reference association of Facility Management in Peru, promoting this discipline before public and private institutions, companies, universities and end users.
